Marjorie I. Spires

Marjorie I. (Snelling) Spires, 87 of Sycamore died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Bethany Health Care and Rehab Center.

She was born May 3, 1925 in Earlville. The daughter of Roy and Marjorie (Gleason) Snelling.

Marjorie worked at GTE in Genoa for over 23 years. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and dear friends.

She is survived by 3 children, Connie D. (Roger) Sibley of DeKalb, Wesley Allan (Donna) Spires of North Augusta, SC and Darrel W. Spires of Sycamore; 4 grandchildren, Monty (Stephanie) Sibley of Loveland, CO, Casey Sibley of DeKalb, Kimberly (Sean) Dougherty of Charleston, SC and Lisa (Jeff) Crocker of VA; 8 great grandchildren, Briana and Brooke Sibley, both of Loveland, CO, Leah Rose Sibley and Drew Sibley, both of DeKalb, Timothy Crocker, Lauren Crocker and Clarie Crocker all of VA and Kalie Jo Dougherty of SC; 3 sisters, Ida M. Brown of Sterling, Mabel McNeilly of St. Joseph, MO and Edna Hartman of Earlville; one brother, Carl Snelling of Earlville; and her dear friends, Joseph Phelps of Sycamore and Viola Murphy of Waterman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Carolyn Sue (Spires) Barker; one grandson, Jeremy Spires; one brother, Earl Snelling; 4 sisters, Doris Schultz, Fern Dilbeck, Edith Earle and Corrine Nelson.
